Day 5
Today is St Nicholas Day Eve (St Nicholas Day is on the 6th).
So tonight we put our shoes out. Over night, St Nicholas visited us...and left us special Christmas candies.
The origins of this tradition are St Nicholas left gold in the stockings of three poor girls. He did so in secret during the night. This had led to the tradition of putting out shoes and stockings for him to leave gifts.
The girls were pretty pleased with their candies. Holly woke up eagerly in the morning to see if "Saint Necklace" had been.
